The Global Snake Bite Initiative is a project of the International Society on Toxinology, a professional organization of scientists, biologists, medical doctors and other people with an interest in natural toxins (from plants, animals and microbes) and the creatures that produce them.

Mobilizing resources to tackle some of the practical issues that confront snake bite victims in the developing world is essential if we are to be successful in applying our knowledge, skills and ingenuity to repairing and saving lives. Presently we are a group of professionals who contribute our time and energy voluntarily, but as we being to develop our workplan and seek to implement projects within countries where snake bite is a problem, we will need financial and other assistance.

At the present time we are not yet soliciting donations to support our work, but an announcement in relation to fund-raising will be made in mid-2010.

In the meantime if you would like to help us in any capacity, please do not hesitate to CONTACT US to discuss your interest in our work.
