WHO Snake Antivenom Guidelines
In October 2008, the WHO Expert Committee on Biological Standardization approved formal Guidelines for the Production, Control and Regulation of Snake Antivenom Immunoglobulins. These Guidelines were released by WHO in May 2010, in conjuction with the launch of a dedicated website on antivenoms, and the distributions of medically important venomous snakes

International Society on Toxinology
The Global Snakebite Initiative has been endorsed by the membership of the International Society on Toxinology (IST), and many of the GSI members are also members of the IST. We encourage anyone with a professional interest in venoms, snakebites and similar topics to give consideration to becoming a member of the IST. The Society publishes a scientific Journal, titled Toxicon, and membership of the Society includes access to this important research publication. More information:
